The Associated Students of Willamette University (ASWU) Senate convened on Thursday, March 7 for its weekly meeting. No speaker was featured, so the majority of the meeting was spent discussing business and finances.
Treasurer Sarah Mische (‘19) presented the final version of ASWU’s Spring Round 2 budget, which was passed unanimously. Senators then passed an addendum of the budget, which would allow late funding to two clubs: one that had been misinformed by its advisor and one that was officially named a club only last week, thus missing the funding request deadline.
Currently, ASWU is holding elections for the executive positions of president, vice president and treasurer for the upcoming 2019-20 school year. More information on specific candidates can be found on pg. 4 of this issue.
ASWU’s next meeting will be held this Thursday, March 14 a 7:00 pm in Ford 102. All meetings are open to the public, and minutes from prior meetings can be accessed through ASWU’s page on the Willamette website under “ASWU Senate.”
