Hello, Bearcat Fan! The Collegian sports and rec section needs YOU to send it sports and rec story tips. Do you know a dog who can skateboard? Do you have an aging neighbor who’s training himself to go to the Olympics in tae kwon do? Has a local hike mended your damaged relationship with your family? Let us know about it! Now, let’s go to the news …

Steeley Mucken (ʼ28) set the school record in javelin at the Linfield Invitational track meet, throwing 65.5 meters, nine centimeters superior to Jordan Loos’ (ʼ14) 2014 toss.

Brock Olson (ʼ26) and men’s golf upset Whitman by a single stroke at the NWC Spring Classic, extending their lead over the Blues to six strokes as they head to the Conference Championships.

Lacrosse screamed into conference play, starching the Pios 16-8, PLU 21-1 and Puget Sound 20-0. Claire Kisielnicki’s (ʼ26) eight goals and three assists against PLU marked the fourth performance of the 2025 season that cracked the school's top five single-game point scoring records.

Baseball came out the better in a barn-burner against Whitworth (12-11), but the Pirates were able to exact revenge (6-7 & 2-17).

Softball caught a pair of tough losses at the hands of PLU (0-1 & 0-11). The latter two games of their series were postponed, and the ʼCats have dropped to No. 5.

Both men’s and women’s tennis failed to win a set at Pacific.

In the world of sport: UConn trounced South Carolina to win the women’s March Madness tournament, Florida came back to defeat Houston in the men’s final, Alex Ovechkin beat Gretzky’s goal record, and the U.S. got the nod for 2031 Women’s World Cup hosting.

Consider in the coming weeks: After six grueling years, can lacrosse finally defeat GFU this weekend at home?
