Hello, Bearcat Fan! Willamette sports experienced a full spectrum of emotions this week, enduring stark defeats, achieving soaring victories and being forced to trade a day at the links for watching raindrop races like a disgruntled third grader on a school bus. Will March showers bring April flowers? Let’s go to the news!

Tenley Grant (ʼ25) won the shot put while Roan Bashioum (ʼ27) secured the hammer throw at the Lane Community College Open track and field meet.

Softball snagged three wins of a possible four away at Whitworth, mercy ruling the Pirates as a farewell before heading back west. They are clinging to a shaky No. 3 spot at 3-5 in the conference, drafting behind vicious Pioneer and Wildcat sides.

Baseball endured four defeats in California at the hands of Occidental and Redlands, each margin worse than the last.

Puget Sound and Lewis & Clark killed women’s tennis’ winning buzz — the Loggers also made it eight straight outings sans match victory for the men.

Heavy spring rains spelled the cancellation of the Willamette Valley Cup. Now only the George Fox Invite awaits golf before the final two conference championship legs in April.

Lacrosse felt the wrath of the southerners Sewanee (5-15) but crushed Berry (16-5). Claire Kisielnicki (ʼ26) scored her 100th career goal for the Bearcats.

The Bearkitties soccer club ravaged Reed College 5-1.

In the world of sport: March Madness brackets are set, Real Madrid got away with it again and the NWSL kicked off its season.

Eye on the conference: Wildcat and Pioneer softball are both still undefeated in the conference. Linfield are gunning for a sixth consecutive championship and sitting in the No. 2 slot. Should No. 1 Lewis & Clark hold firm, they would secure their first title since 1979.
