Hello, Bearcat Fan! November, the Thursday of the year, has hit its 3 p.m. wall. Now that all attempts at working require Herculean effort, there's no better time to allow Bearcat sports news to pull you from your Canvas-induced stupor. Let’s go to the news!

Women’s cross-country cracked No. 10 of 25 at the NCAA West Regional meet — three places higher than last year. Morgan Shaw (ʼ26) led the ‘Cats, clocking a finish 10 seconds inferior to her time at the NWC Championships two weeks ago. Every finisher for Willamette has at least another year of eligibility.

Football lost to Lewis and Clark 7-35, thus bringing to a close a seventh season sans conference victory. In his inaugural season, head coach Aric Williams was able to bring the average per-game point differential up from -41.3 to -26.5.

MBB worked Canadian visitors Douglas College 106-70 but fell to North Central College out of Naperville, IL 50-69.

After meeting another 30-point loss, this time at the hands of East Texas Baptist, WBB picked up their first victory of the season over LaVerne 87-83.

Men’s swim endured a trio of decisive defeats. They racked up a distressing -349 point differential against the Lutes, the Pirates and the Blues.

Women’s swim fared slightly better but failed to snag a team victory.

In the world of sport: The YouTube boxing guy made it onto TV again and threw jabs for 16 minutes at a 58-year-old “Iron” Mike Tyson, the U.S. rugby sevens team among others competed in Providence Park, and the Orlando Pride are set to take on the Washington Spirit at the NWSL Championship on Saturday.

Consider in the coming weeks: Are Willamette athletes making any money off of NIL sales?
